Cookie Notice
Last updated September 21, 2026
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. The Bait Shop keeps this simple: we only use the ones needed to keep you signed in. We use no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
What we set
- Sign-in cookies (names start with
sb-). They remember that you are signed in and let you post and vote. They are set only after you ask for a sign-in link, last up to about a year, and are removed when you sign out. - Saved settings and drafts in your browser's storage: that you closed the cookie notice, a report you are writing, and reports waiting to send when you have no signal.
- Saved pages in your browser's cache, so lakes you have viewed still open with no signal. Signing out clears them.
The sign-in and posting forms also load Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check. It may store a small amount of data in your browser to tell people from bots. It is there for security, not advertising, and it is not used to track you across sites.
These are strictly necessary for the features you asked for or for security, so they don't need your opt-in under the laws we follow. If we ever add anything optional, such as analytics, we will ask you first and update this page.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you can still read the site but you won't be able to sign in, post or vote.
